Yoda is known in the Star Wars universe as the greatest Jedi of them all. His sayings and way with words have become a staple in popular culture since the characters first appearance in The Empire Strikes Back. According to George Lucas, Yoda’s true origins are shrouded in mystery. When we first meet him, he is the leader of the Jedi council on Coruscant. he is known as the greatest Jedi of his time. During his time as leader of the council, he appoints Anakin Skywalker as a Jedi apprentice to Obi-Wan Kenobi. A controversial move that would ultimately lead to the destruction of the Republic.
When the Republic goes to war with Separatist forces of the galaxy, Yoda is made a battlefield commander of the army’s elite clone troops. When the Jedi are beginning to become exterminated by Darth Sidious, Yoda flees and battles the evil sith Lord. Yoda is defeated and hides in the far reaches of the galaxy. Many years later, Anakin’s son Luke Skywalker comes to Yoda for training to become a Jedi. Yoda is initially skeptical of the young Skywalker. But trains him nonetheless. Yoda soon becomes ill and dies, leaving Luke to decide t he fate of the galaxy. Yoda becomes one with the Force and goes down as the greatest Jedi of all time.
