Some people believe, God was a pea that exploded and formed all the matter we now have. After all, what is the difference between a piece of matter that is all-powerfull, created all things, was eternally existent and the definition of God? Some believe he actually walked on this earth. God is an explanation to something we don't understand. it's an idea that was created in primitive times, when we didn't know better than we do today. people stopped believing in the Greek Olympian gods once science came about and yet a bunch of people today still think that Christianity makes a lot more sense. As if one god who controls everything makes is any different from 12 gods controlling everything. if your talking about the thing that made us all up? science. depends on what you think god is.
