The West Middlebury Cemetery is located in West Middlebury, New York. It is one of the most historic cemeteries in its county, dating back to the early 1700s. However, this cemetery is most known for its large number of spiritual activity inside its gates. The site has little use now, and is relatively small with only about 100 plots. WNY Paranormal did an investigation of the site and discovered the caretaker spirit of Mary Chaddock. The team sensitive initially discovered the spirit by being drawn to a large pillar stone towards the back of the cemetery.
There, they captured an EVP and recorded a partial apparition moving on video. On the stone it read the name Mary. This was confirmed to be Mary Chaddock. The information Mary told the psychic collaborated with the research done about her in local records which also confirmed her identity. The team sensitive used dowsing rods beginning at the stone pillar to have Mary lead her to the grave site. It took a half hour of following, but the journey ended at Mary’s site next to her husband.
Mary stays at the back of the cemetery by the stone. She has been known to communicate through EVP and physical sensations. She is commonly seen at nigh roaming amidst the cemetery. Sensitives at the site have experienced the imprint of a murder, shadow figures walking around, and have heard the sounds of gun shots and screams. WNY Paranormal believes that the high paranormal activity on the site is due to the flow of an underground saltwater source and the kinetic energy by a nearby railway.
