A weeping statue is a statue that allegedly was shedding tears or weeping by any supernatural means. Substances that have been been claimed to of come from the statue are human blood, oil, and scented liquids. Miraculous healing, formation of figures in the tear lines, and the scent of roses are other claims. Weeping Statues are generally those from the Christian faith. Many of these incidents have been claimed as hoaxes and the development of such a hoax has been claimed to be relatively easy.

For a list of some weeping statues incidents, visit Wikipedia’s article, Weeping statue. You can also see some pictures of some claimed weeping statues and paintings at the following page, Weeping statues and icons. There are many of these incidents but only a few are recognized by the Catholic Church.
