Waterspouts are funnel-shaped clouds that occur over a body of water. It is like a tornado above water and brings the water forward. They normally develop in moisture-laden environments with little vertical wind shear such as land breezes. They normally develop when their parent clouds are forming and it is believed that they spin up as they move along the surface boundary and then stretches upwards to the cloud. They can happen anywhere.
