People throughout history have been appalled at the vendetta Hitler had against the Jewish people. The slaughter he authorized has shaped history as well as the events today. Yet, many people do not know who developed this plan. While Hitler was the man who authorized it, there was a group of Nazi men underneath him who created the plan of answering “the final solution to the Jewish question.”
In 1942, Germany expanded its empire into the whole of Europe and North Africa. They were pushing far into the reaches of Russia and had planned on implementing their policies on all of their conquered territories. In a Berlin suburb known as Wannsee, a group of high ranking Nazi officials held a conference to decide what should be done for the future of Germany. Among the people at this meeting were Adlof Eichmann, Reinhard Heydrich, and Heinrich Müller.
These men gathered together and changed history within two hours. The implemented a plan for all Jews to be deported to extermination, labor, or concentration camps. Adolf Eichmann was the man in charge of organizing the deportation plans. He wanted a mass number of Jews to be killed off within a few years. By the next decade, the men planned to have no Jews left in any of Germany’s conquered territories. After the meeting was over, none of the men had a stroke of conscience and celebrated by having drinks.
Within five years, more than six million Jews would be deported and murdered.
