Victoria Park
Victoria Park is located in Queensland, Australia, and is the site of a both famous and mysterious ghost. The legend all started to begin in November of 1965, when a group of children wondered into the park at night after hearing that a ghost may haunt the site. One boy in the group was straggling behind, and he claims that in this time, he witnessed a misty, green, headless apparition that came out from the wall. The boy was taken to the hospital by his friends because he was obviously in shock, and the others feared that the ghost was possessing his body.
After the group of kids told their story, the news leaked into national newspapers. Soon after, Victoria Park became a circus. People from all over the area began to look around to get a glimpse of this ghost. Families started to go on trips there, and vendors would go to sell their memorabilia to make a profit. The nearby lake where kids once played was turned into a sight of oil barrels and old furniture; they then were lit on fire in order to help light the area where the ghost may be. At the end of this spectacle that lasted about a week, no ghost was seen.
However, a local newspaper published a photo taken that may have contained the proof of this mysterious ghost. The photograph displayed a mist coming up from the floor through a drain. It is possible that this mist could have been caused from rotting vegetation, but this may not be entirely true. That is, three sightings prior to this photograph had taken place in 1903, 1922, and 1932. Due to this fact, many people still believe that a ghost does haunt Victoria Park, and it is only a matter of time before it shows itself to the world once again.
