Ghosts of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point
The U.S. Military Academy in West Point, New York was established in 1802 and has been the top-school for anyone seeking a career in the military. It is a place of extreme historic importance, and in a lot of cases, ghosts appear in a place with those credentials. There have been a few ghost sightings on the campus, but the one that stands out was in 1972. One night, two cadets were sleeping in their room, when they were awoken by a ghostly figure standing by their wall. They described it as extending through the wall and disappearing almost instantly.
Also, they had sensed an unusual feeling of coolness in the air. When ghosts are present, it is believed that the air feels cooler than usual. This happened another couple of nights until the cadets decided to move out. The room is located on the grounds of a 19th-century house for soldiers that once stood until it was burned down. An old cemetery stands nearby as well.
