Union Station
Union Station is located in Ogden, Utah and was once the hub of transcontinental railroad traffic for a little more than 50 years. The structure that now stands was built in 1924 after the original structure was destroyed by fire. It is a Mediterranean style structure and contains large murals on both ends of the main hallway. Union Station now contains several museums including the Utah State Railroad Museum, the Browning Arms Museum, the Browning Kimball Museum, the Natural History Museum, and the Gallery at Union Station. There are a number of ghost stories that are told about Union Station.
The most often seen of these ghosts is that of the lady in blue. Legend has it that a pretty lady who was wearing a blue dress had her lover leave her in the station. She ran and didn’t pay attention to where she was going and went in front of an oncoming train and was killed. Her ghost is seen often in the station, running through the rail yard accompanied with the sound of a screaming woman’s voice. This is not the only ghost that is known to be present in this old station.
Countless EVP’s have been recorded revealing paranormal activity. Mists have been seen by many people as it floats down the stairs and moves across the main hall to the ground floor. During one investigation, the investigators heard a woman’s voice speaking in the woman’s restroom. The station’s past has been gruesome at times, and this fact is the most likely reason as to why it is rampant with spiritual activity.
During the Vietnam War, the station was a receiver for the bodies of those American soldiers that were killed in battle. The Browning Arms Museum is also home to a few spirits who are dressed in Civil War uniforms.
