The Problem with Dream Interpretations

dream

I’m not going to lie, I am quite curious as to what they have to say about my dreams. You can look up certain symbols online and find out their meanings and why they are placed in your dreams. However, I am very critical when I see different websites and books offering different explanations. The fact of the matter is, how does a book, which was probably written years ago, tell you how you feel, and what these symbols mean in your life?

I have come up with my own view on interpreting dreams, interpret your own. The symbols that are displayed in your dreams, you can figure out on your own, and you don’t need help. Ask yourself what you think this dream means, and take it from there.

That’s it exactly. If you have a lucid dream that you remember well, the nouns in the dream will pertain to ‘you’ and your life’s experiences. I do not believe in symbols unless for instance a symbol may represent part of your life. My nickname is squeak so mice and rats (in the form of glass or crystal collectables) are a part of my life. So that is what I mean by symbols representing part of your life.

Nobody can honestly and thoroughly read your dreams but yourself and it’s simply a matter of looking at the nouns and then go into your past and see where they may apply. Then you have to think about why that particular noun was being presented to you. It could pertain to a similar situation today that also happened years ago. But one thing is for certain, the interpretation is solely up to you.
