The Night Sky
Every night, we look up at the sky and see the millions of stars stretched out across the black sky. It seems to dawn on most of us that we cannot be alone in the universe. For every star we see, there is probably a few planets in each of their systems. That’s thousands of planets! Using common sense and a bit of our imagination, we can see that there must be life on other planets. Its a bit arrogant to think we are the only world in this entire universe that is able to support life. But if there is other life-forms out there in the deepness of outer space, who are they?
Surely not every planet has little green people walking around. I’m sure that life has different forms on other planets. There could be plant life, even bacteria. By the word extraterrestrial, that means anything not from Earth. So in essence bacteria is an “alien”. It is not from our planet. It may be possible that one day we will arrive on these planets and see this form of life. Although a small plant may mean nothing to the average citizen of Earth, it will be a great deal of controversy among the scientific community of our planet.
