Burlington, Vermont is in the northwestern tip of the state along Lake Champlain, which is home to Champy. Champy is the legendary sea creature that allegedly swims the shores of the lake. Right at this spot on land is also the Ice House Restaurant. John Burlington built a house on the site in 1808. In 1868, the house caught fire, and was then re-built to serve as an ice house. The three-story building supplied the town ice for years, obtaining the enormous ice chunks from the lake.

The site was then converted to retail property late in the 20th century. Paranormal activity has been reported there for many years. A chef was working in the now converted Ice House Restaurant. While he was cooking in the kitchen he witnessed a female apparition that was swinging a bell. As he walked towards, she disappeared into the air. No one knows who this woman is, but it has been reported by various staff members and visitors yearly.

The ghostly apparition of the woman is not the only paranormal occurence at the old restaurant. People often report hearing the sound of ice blocks being dragged across the floor. Objects that are put down by the staff mysteriously disappear. They are then found later on in a strange and hidden area. People who continually work there almost feel weird when they don’t witness any ghostly activity since it happens so often.
