Willard Library is in an old Victorian Gothic style house in Evansville, Indiana. It opened in 1885, making it the oldest public library in the state. The beautiful style of the house itself is unmatched in the area which grabs any visitors attention. However, more recently many people visit the library because of the Lady in Gray who haunts it.

The Lady in Gray was not reported until 1936, when a worker quit his job after so many sightings of the ghost. Ever since then, the ghost has been seen all over the library. Areas include: the children s section, the basement, the bathrooms, and the elevator. Most of the time the people have reported seeing the actual figure, yet sometimes people smell the scent of perfume or feel unusual cold spots.

The library has become one of the most investigated haunted places in the country, most notably on the SciFi channel show Ghost Hunters. It has also inspired the Willard Library Ghost Cams that are set up around the house. Viewers can watch this anytime of the day on the website willardghost.com. This has led to the capture of what is believed to the be the Lady in Gray on camera in 2004. You be the judge!
