The Ghost of Dunes State Park

The Indiana Dunes are on the shores of Lake Michigan, and have become a popular tourist spot over the years. Since the 1920s, people have reported seeing the ghost figure of a naked woman running on the beach. This figure is commonly referred to as Diana of the Dunes. The ghost is believed to be that of a woman named Alice Marble Gray. Alice was born into a prominent Chicago family, and grew up to graduate from the prestigious University of Chicago.
She had a good life, but somewhere along the line she lost everything. Her family fell apart, her eyesight started going, and some say her mind did as well. She then moved into a shack by the dunes to recapture her good childhood memories from there when she used to go as a kid. She became a known person around the area, considered to possibly be crazy, but never causing harm to anyone.
In the 1920s, she became involved with a man named Paul Wilson. Paul was a dangerous man, a drifter who was known for being violent and committing crimes. One day, Mary suffered severe blows to the abdomen and died a few days later in the hospital. Paul is believed it be responsible for the wounds to Mary, and eventually he was shot by police in California during a carjacking.
Ever since Mary died, the figure of her ghost has been reported quite frequently on the shores of the dunes running to a seemingly distant place.
