The Double Theft

January 2nd, 2009

There are two stories of this urban legend. The first one describes how a woman’s purse had been stolen in the restroom of a large department store. The woman reports the theft to the store manager and goes home. She later on receives a phone call from someone saying that the store had found her purse. When she returns to the store, she finds out that nobody at the store made such a call. She goes home to find out that her home was burglarized in her absence by someone using the keys in her stolen purse.

The second story describes that someone’s car had been stolen and was returned the next day enclosed with a thank you note saying that the thief needed transportation for an emergency. Two tickets to a popular show were enclosed and the owners of the car decided to go. When they return from the theater, they find out that their home had been robbed while they were out.
