In 2008, the three year wait ended. Christopher Nolan, the director of Batman Begins, finally released the sequel to his new take on Batman: The Dark Knight. The film broke box-office records and received rave reviews from critics world-wide. It became one of the highest-grossing movies of all-time, just behind Titanic. Fans of cinema and Batman alike consider this to be the best Batman film of them all.

Only a few months after the events of Batman Begins, the crime in Gotham has come to an all-time low thanks to the work of Police Lieutenant James Gordon and District Attorney Harvey Dent. Along with the help of Batman, the masked vigilante that stalks the streets at night, the city is now better than it ever was. Dozens of mobsters are put behind bars, however they get desperate and hire a psychopath to rid Gotham of Batman. The psychopath is known as the Joker. Hired to kill Batman, he takes advantage of this freedom and brings chaos upon all of Gotham. Killing people at will, Batman must now go as far as possible to bring down this violent criminal. But how far will Batman go in his quest for true justice?
