The Dakota

In 1980 John Lennon was living at The Dakota, a penthouse apartment building on the upper west side of Manhattan. He was shot outside by a man named Mark David Chapman. Since his death, people have claimed to have seen Lennon standing at the gate. This site is a tourist attraction for thousands and many leave claiming they have seen unexplained phenomena. For example in the 1960s, construction workers were working on the building. They claimed they saw the ghost of a young boy haunting the area. In addition to this place was also used as the setting for Roman Polanski’s film Rosemary’s Baby.

Could there really be ghosts here? Many people live in this area of Manhattan and never see anything of the sort. Could this all be an example of an over-active imagination? You will just have to take the trip there to see for yourself.
