The Country Witch

November 4th, 2008

The Country Witch is a store in the historic village of Fort Covnington, New York. The Country Witch opened up in an old Victorian building that was once a private residence. The upstairs was converted into a four-room upstairs shop, where antiques, curios, and various occult supplies were sold. Soon after the store’s opening, strange and mysterious things started to happen. One of the owners would stay later at night, and she started to witness paranormal activity.

This paranormal activity includes lights turning on and off, doors opening and closing, and objects moving into different spots all on their own. Also, the owner was listening to the radio one night and the station changed. Towards the back of the shop was a small room used for clothing. No matter how high the thermostat was or how hot it was outside, there would always be a strange coldness in the room. Visitors have also had the feeling that they were being watched inside the store. No one knows who this spirit is, but perhaps it was brought along with an antique or occult item sold there.
