In 2008, Walt Disney Pictures and Walden Media brought the second chapter of C.S. Lewis beloved Chronicles of Narnia series to the screen. The film received mixed reviews, yet was still a box-office success. After the incredible performance of the first film, there as hope that this film would out-do it. This did not happen. The second film picked up about a year after the events of the first film. Peter, Lucy, Susan, and Edmund are getting ready to return to school, when suddenly the tube station they are standing in, rips apart and becomes the land of Narnia.

At first, the children are overjoyed at being back, yet soon things are not as great as they seem. They discover ancient ruins and the absence of the creatures that inhabited the land. They soon discover that a thousand years has passed in Narnia, a group of humans known as the telmarines has claimed the land, and the creatures have been driven into hiding. It is up to the four children to gather the creatures in a struggle to reclaim their home from the evil telmarines. Although the film and book are much darker in tone than that of the first one, it is still an excellent adventure story that ups the ante.
