The Bush House
The Bush House Country Inn is located in Index, Washington and was established in 1898. It is situated between the Skykomish River and the Cascade Mountain range. This hotel served the town of Index during its height in mining and lumber operations for the Pacific Northwest. Staff and guests have reported many events of paranormal phenomena. There have been odors of cigars and perfume coming from the second floor when no one is there. In one instance, a man walked out of his room and was unable to get back in because it was locked from the inside by an unseen force.
Once the door was opened by a staff member, a strong gust of wind blew right by the two men. Electromagnetic field meters experienced many fluctuations while investigators were on the 2nd floor. They also experienced many cold spots ranging from the 2nd floor to the 3rd floor attic. Anabelle is the name of one of the ghost that haunts the old hotel. She committed suicide in room number 9 after learning her miner husband had been killed in an accident. People have come into contact with Anabelle in room number 9 and the 2nd floor corridor where she walks occasionally. In the cottage next to the hotel, there are also reports of hauntings, although no one stays there. One night, a large crucifix was thrown across the floor and broken. There is even a film documentary on the cottage regarding a photo that was taken outside revealing the apparitions of two children looking out the window.
