Webcams are a useful tool for friends or family members trying to keep in contact. Recently, a college student used one for a terrible purpose. Abraham Biggs, a 19-year-old college student, went to a website and created a live forum. He announced he would kill himself within twelve hours. Most people posting on the forum did not believe his intentions. Some even thought he wouldn’t have enough pills to kill himself. Biggs said that he hated his life and wanted to end it. He sat down on his father’s bed and took dozens of pills. Viewers described Biggs as passing out and breathing heavily for a while.

Later in the video, the police came into the room and the viewers now realized they were witnessing a real event, not some prank. His family members have all come forward saying that this young boy was a kind soul who did not need to die. A friend left a comment on Biggs’ Myspace saying he wished this was all a dream. What we can learn from this story is that no matter how bad things get, nothing is worth killing yourself over. May his soul rest in peace.
