Springhill

March 19th, 2009

Springhill is a 17th-century house that is located in Moneymore, Ireland. At one point, it was the home of a single family for 10 generations. In the 19th century, a woman named Miss Wilson was living at Springhill and reportedly saw the apparition of a tall female standing at the top of the stairs. The ghost then walked towards a door in the room, swung its hand up in the air as if it was in disgust, and then it disappeared. Years later, another woman named Miss Hamilton was staying in the same room and witnessed excited servants coming into the room before the door even opened.

Following this, light shone into the room, and the servants disappeared. A governess once reported hearing two children in the room next to hear talking about a ghostly woman that was standing by the fireplace. The administrator of the property for years has been Teddy Butler. He too, has had his own paranormal experiences at Springhill. He once saw the apparition of a woman wearing black at the top of the stairs. He also has heard the sounds of footsteps on the stairs. The wildest experience he ever had was coming into contact with a woman going through the backdoor. This woman is believed to be the spirit of Colonel Conyngham’s wife. Her portrait vanished from the property, reappeared wrapped in brown paper, and then went missing again.
