Spencer Mountain
Spencer Mountain is located in North Carolina, and is home to a famous haunted house. Ironically, it is used as a playful haunted house to raise money for the volunteer fire department in the area. This is ironic because the house is actually haunted. It overlooks the Catawba River, and tales of ghostly activity here are common. An interesting fact is that there has been no reported haunted activity when the house is open to the public as a haunted house. The famous ghost sighting took place on October 11, 2002.
A fireman dressed up as Freddy Krueger was setting up for the haunted house and positioned himself in a corner by the top of the steps. Suddenly, a woman wearing a white faced garment came in his face. Also during this time, the strobe lights and fog machine stopped working. He ran out of the house screaming and would refuse to go back inside the house. The firefighters all claim that no one wearing attire such as the white lace garment has ever been involved in the activities.
The North Carolina Piedmont Paranormal Research Society investigated the house on September 25, 2004. They did not come into contact with any apparitions, but a white string like image was photographed in three different images. The string appears in front of an investigator in the middle of a room and was not a decoration. The dowsing rods began to cross, which is why the pictures were taken. For the last 25 years or so the house has remained vacant with the exception of the haunted house. No one knows for sure who the woman with a white lace gown is or why she is there.
