Scary Bible Verses

I have been searching all over the Internet for some of the scariest Bible verses that you can read. If I have missed some and you would like to add one in, feel free to leave a comment with all the information and verse(s).

“For every one that curseth his father or his mother shall be surely put to death: he hath cursed his father or his mother; his blood shall be upon him.”- Leviticus 20:9

“If a man have a stubborn and rebellious son, which will not obey the voice of his father, or the voice of his mother, and that, when they have chastened him, will not hearken unto them:
Then shall his father and his mother lay hold on him, and bring him out unto the elders of his city, and unto the gate of his place;
And they shall say unto the elders of his city, This our son is stubborn and rebellious, he will not obey our voice; he is a glutton, and a drunkard.
And all the men of his city shall stone him with stones, that he die: so shalt thou put evil away from among you; and all Israel shall hear, and fear.”- Deuteronomy 21:18-21

“Ye shall utterly destroy all the places, wherein the nations which ye shall possess served their gods, upon the high mountains, and upon the hills, and under every green tree:
And ye shall overthrow their altars, and break their pillars, and burn their groves with fire; and ye shall hew down the graven images of their gods, and destroy the names of them out of that place.”- Deuteronomy 12:2-3

    You took John 3:13 completly out of context.The actual theme is” no man has ascended into heaven that didnt descend from heaven,just like the Son of Man.Jesus is trying to explain more about the how and why of our mission on earth in the flesh.-usdi Agaluga

    I’m sure if you did a direct translation from the original script it would sound a lot scarier. If you look verses up in the newer American versions of the Bible, it actually typically sounds a lot milder than even the King James Version. Christianity has been extremely modernized to fit into a world that does not accept the kind of behavior you might see in countries that aren’t modern, for example, those with Islamic law. Islam is a religion that, in my opinion, has been largely resistant to modernism. The Bible calls for similar bigotry and terror as the Koran does. Modern Christians and modern Muslims just ignore those parts. How often do you hear Christians saying, “Oh well that’s the OLD Testament… What’s important is the Bible that involves Jesus.” It sounds ridicules, but members of these old religions are actually SUPPOSED to be doing things like “dasheth thy little ones against the stones”. A religious fanatic is actually following their respective religious books to the letter. But instead, these religions that are actually quite full of hate and prejudice are combed through by those that adhere to them to pick out the bits and pieces about Jesus, for instance, who very much seemed to be a hippie that loved all kinds of people. It amazes me, that in this day and age in modern societies, people still cling to the dogma of these old religions instead of just trying to be a good person. You can make Jesus a role model without trying to fit all that outdated mythology into your life. And just think, then you wouldn’t have to defend Bible verses like the ones above.

    @scary stuff maybe if you would look at the rest of the verse instead of beleiving what it says on stupid websites, you would want to go to church. this page is trying to get you to not go to church, and apparently it succeeded. but if you would read past John 3:13 to about verse 16, you would realize that this page is bogus.
