Rose Hall Great House
Rose Hall is located in Montego Bay, Jamaica. It was once the home of a woman named Annie Palmer, a person so feared during her life, she was referred to as “The White Witch of Rose Hall.” The Rose Hill Plantation was an island paradise, built in 1770 as a luxurious stay for the wealthy. However, there were many slaves who worked on the sugar cane plantation on the grounds as well. Annie Palmer was born in Haiti in the early 1800s. Her nanny started to teach her voodoo since she was a young girl.
Annie’s parents were killed mysteriously while she was only ten years-old. Her nanny would raise her until she turned 18, then she moved to Jamaica. She married a local plantation owner named John Palmer shortly after. Upon the marriage, Annie became the mistress of the plantation. Annie would get bored of her husband, and when this happened she would have slaves come up to her room so she could have her way with them. After she got what she wanted, she would have them killed, that way they couldn’t tell anyone what happened.
One night, John was killed, and this death is completely shrouded in mystery. After his death, Annie inherited everything he owned. She would then go on to marry two more men, inheriting everything they owned, after each of their mysterious deaths as well. During this whole time, she was still bringing slaves up into her room, killing them immediately after. Annie also beat the slaves during the day, and tortured them in the mansion at night. Currently, there is ghostly activity all over Rose Hall. People have reported seeing doors slam on their own, and the screams of men echoing through the hallways. Apparitions have been seen and photographed, often in the bedrooms.
