Rogers Theatre
This theatre has been the site for various haunting experiences to many different people. This includes the sighting of apparitions, unexplainable electrical malfunctions, and the feeling of being with greater forces. It is located in the downtown area of Wausau, Wisconsin. The building was built in the early 1920s and it was first used as a tire shop and then a funeral home. The businesses were in operation at this building until the 1940s where it became vacant for a number of years, but during this time it was most likely serving as a brothel.
InĀ 1945 it opened again as the Hollywood Theatre and then in 1960 it was changed to the New Wausau Theatre. Finally in 1979 it became the Rogers Theatre. The theatre closed officially in 2002 but is still believed to be a place of great paranormal activity. Most of these paranormal experiences have taken place in the basement where the former employees called this spirit Bob. One man reported that while he was working alone in the basement, he saw a man dressed in a black suit walk across the stage.
When this man then went back to look in the projector he was shocked to see the same man staring back at him through it. Another account deals with two men who were working in the basement when they heard these loud thumping sounds above them. Upon investigation, two entire rows of seats were crashing up and down. One final account includes a night manager while he was locking up. He went to close the door and as this happened he was pushed by an unseen force. Other numerous unexplained events that have occurred include lights being turned on and off and unexplained noises.
