Nanking Massacre Body everywhere.jpg

Before World War Two had officially begun, the Japanese had started invading sovereign nations in Asia. In China, the Japanese occupied the infamous city known as Nanking. It was here that one of the most horrific human atrocities in history occurred. Japanese soldiers arrived in the city and celebrated their victory by raping, killing, and pillaging most of the city. Young babies were thrown into the air and the Japanese would catch them on their long bayonets. Women of all ages were raped since they were seen by the Japanese as being an inferior race. Boys were forces to rape their own mothers.

Mass graves were dug and the Japanese used the innocent civilians as target practice for their machine guns. The Japanes would either burn the dead bodies or throw them in a river if they were not buried. Prisoners who had surrendered were brutally executed or buried alive. Within the first six weeks of the occupation, more than 150,000 people were massacred. The Japanese government today has come out and denied much of the atrocity ever happened, yet history proves otherwise. It was later disclosed by the United States Government that an additional 500,000 people in the surrounding area were killed before the Japanese murdered 300,000 in the actual city.

Short article, I wish there were more here. I’ve studied this topic a lot as I lived in Nanking for a couple years. My girlfriend’s mom was one of the ones that hid in the girls university there during the occupation of the city. Her uncle, a baby at the time, was one of them that were tossed into the air and skewered with a Japanese bayonet. Before then, I had no idea this ever happened. There is still a lot of hate for what the Japanese did, as there should be. You forgive someone for stepping on your foot or bumping into you, maybe backing into your car.

The Japanese government should still be paying for this, and what happened throughout WWII. Instead they deny it, even in the face of so much evidence. They know damn well what happened there. Nanking is just one story, there are so many other, the places are just different. The Philippines, Korea, and all the inhabited pacific islands saw the same atrocity. The world tuned a blind eye to all this at the end of the war, much like they’re turning a blind eye to what’s happening TODAY in North Korea.

If you’re looking for civilization, you’re on the wrong planet.

I can’t agree with you more!!! I was watching a movie called “Black Sun 731″ while I was about 20 years old, I was in tears and shocked, the images still stuck inside my head since! After 15 years, I am still not able to understand how could human beings torture another human beings in such ways!!! I told my German boyfriend, he realised the German aren’t the worst after all lol

The Jews in Europe during WWII were also being treated badly and unfairly as well. Clearly, Hitler was afraid of the intelligence and financial power of Jews, couldn’t compete with them face to face, what he did was absolutely awful and low!
