Price-Gause House

December 13th, 2008

Price Gause is located in Wilmington, North Carolina. The house was built in 1843 but prior to that year the site was Wilmington Gallow’s Hill. Countless men were hung at this site and it was then customary to bury these men on the site if no one was there to claim the body. Dr. William Price decided to build his home on this property with enough room for both his office and traditional living space. Soon after moving into the house, strange things started to happen immediately. To this day strange things still occur, such as sounds of footsteps, the smell of tobacco, and the opening and closing of doors.

The most active room is probably the upstairs office which for many years was a bathroom. During hot summer nights, the windows from this room often frost up and word help is imprinted on it. This can easily be seen from the outside and there is no explanation as to why this happens. Activity has also been seen outside the house with EMF recordings, orbs, and an apparitions that seems to be peering into the window. People have described feeling a building of pressure as they stand in the yard, which isn’t unusual since there are so many unmarked graves. The house now serves as an architectural firm and paranormal activity continues to persist.
