Mount Sleza

March 27th, 2009

Located in southwestern Poland, the Sudety Mountains run along the border with the Czech Republic. Legend has it that this mountain range was formed after Lucifer was cast out of heaven and into hell. The entrance to hell was located in the area where the mountains stand. When Lucifer went underground, the angels closed the entrance by putting rocks and dirt on top, forming the current Sudety Mountains. The mountains are rich with gold and crystals, and visitors often frequent the site. There is also a spirit who protects the treasures of the mountains, and Mount Sleza is where this spirit is most often seen. The legend says that if someone was to find the proper cavern and dig it up, they will find the entrance to hell.
