Mordor is the evil land of Sauron in J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings. It is home to wicked creatures and the darkness of Middle-Earth. The barren landscape is very much like a nuclear wasteland. The skies above the plans are covering by a thick cloud of smoke issued from the fire mountain called Orodruin. Here in this mountain, Sauron forged the One Ring. From his tower of Baradur, he launched terror upon the people of Middle-Earth. His war raged for years until eventually an alliance was made against him in which thousands of Men and Elves marched into Mordor and cornered Sauron.

Sauron was destroyed for a time, but Mordor still was a land of darkness and despair. After many years of being dormant, Sauron’s spirit resettled itself in Mordor. He created vast armies of Orcs and rebuilt his dark tower. Atop the tower he stood in the form of a lidless eye. Here he hoped to launch yet another invasion and cover all the lands in darkness. Yet, the men of the west marched on him again and his Ring was destroyed. Mordor was no more. The mountain crumbled and the land lay desolate after Sauron’s domain had ended.
