Market Square
Market Square is located in Oakville, Ontario. Market Square dates back to 1835, and is commonly referred to as one of the most haunted locations in the historic town of Oakville. Oakville currently contains a nice park and is surrounded by small businesses. In the 1800s, it differed greatly, containing the town hall and the county jail. The spirit who haunts Market Square is named Philip, who seems to be a friendly ghost that is open to welcoming people to the square at all times. Strange sounds and noises are often heard, and this is also accompanied with an odd smell of smoke. As Halloween nears, the distinct smell of burning is in the air. After doing research, people found out that the town hall and county jail burnt down twice in the 1800s.
