Magic Bullet
This is an urban legend that comes up around times of war. It is said that a soldier’s life is saved because of some bizarre or lucky way when a bullet that is directly aimed at him is deflected or stopped, often by a bible or a pack of loves letters in his breast pocket. Then, the survivor carries the bullet around as a good-luck charm. One miraculous survival of a particular site is that of the Mormon Temple in Hawaii, which attracted the attention of a Japanese pilot during the attack of Pearl Harbor. Many legends claim that he was unable to release bombs over the temple but succeeded in dropping them on military targets. After the war, after he learned what the spared edifice was, it is said that he converted to Mormonism.
