Los Angeles Skies
With the attack on Pearl Harbor, the people of America were on high alert of impending attack. In 1942, lights were seen above Los Angeles, the military stationed there went on full alert and launched everything they had towards the sky. The sky lit up with explosions and sounds of thunder. It was thought by military commanders that the lights were coming from Japanese bombers about to target the city. After the incident was over, the United States Military admitted that it was a false alarm. They claimed that the men on the ground saw a weather balloon and over-reacted.
President Roosevelt was informed by Army Intelligence that the objects were not of human origin. Fearing a panic throughout the world, Roosevelt chose to not leak out the information. He feared that if people knew aliens were a threat, plus the fact that the Germans and Japanese were on the move, every American would become hysterical and there would be chaos.
