Long Trail hiking path is located in Bennington, Vermont, deep in the southwest corner of the state. Most people who go on hiking trips never will go to Long Trail, for they believe there is a curse upon the area. People have said to vanish into thin-air while on the trail. On November 12, 1945, Middle Rivers disappeared on the trail. In December of 1946, Paula Weldon vanished from the trail while hiking.

She was with a group of fellow college students when she wondered away from the group. After a while, when she didn’t come back, her friends went to look for her, but were unsuccessful and she was never seen again. James Telford and Frances Christman both disappeared in 1949 and 1950, respectfully. There have been many other disappearances dating back from the 1930s but many of these aren’t even documented.

One person was found murdered on the trail by the name of Freida Langer. Her body was found on the trail, but no one knows who killed her or why. Some locals don’t believe in the legend. Although, these people are the ones who avoid going in the woods for fear of the unknown. For a brave and true hiker, this could be the opportunity to find out the mystery of Long Trail.

Paula Weldon was not with other students when she disappeared according to every other article I have seen about her. She left campus alone, spoke with 3 or 4 people on her way to the trail and then never showed up back on campus.
