Lincoln, New Mexico

December 24th, 2008

The town of Lincoln in New Mexico is probably best known for its infamous gun fights involving Billy the Kid. The town was the site for one of the worst gunfights in American history. This fight took place during July of 1878. A five day battle ensued with most of the people involved dying. However, Billy the Kid was one of the few lucky ones who was able to escape, although he was killed later on by his friend Sheriff Garrett. Ghosts are known to haunt all over the town. Lincoln is currently a small village with a great museum, restaurants, and stores.

Many of the original buildings in Lincoln are still standing and in fairly good condition. There have been many ghosts reported in various places of the town. An older Mexican was seen with a cowboy hat and Western clothes. After looking at him, he vanishes. Many images of cowboys riding on horses are reported being seen, but then they fade until they vanish. A little boy has been seen in the yard by the church playing by himself and then he disappears. Three women were seen wearing Western dress crossing the street and as they reached the other side of the street they disappeared as well. Walking around Lincoln could be quite an experience to say the least.
