Lake Forest Cemetery
Lake Forest Cemetery is located in Grand Haven, Michigan. On the top of the hill on the cemetery lies one of the founding fathers of Grand Haven. His name is Reverend William M. Ferry and he was born in 1796. He was significant because he was the first Protestant missionary to work with the American Indians.
In 1822, him and his wife founded an Indian Mission on Mackinac Island. Following this, they co-founded the city of Grand Haven with Rix Robinson. The high hill on the site contains the remains of the founding fathers and their families. In the 1940s, this area was horribly vandalized, with an emphasis on the gravestone for Reverend William Ferry. This is the reason why most people believe the area is now haunted. The spirit is unable to rest because of the injustice that was acted upon his final resting place. Since the 1950s, people have reported seeing a male apparition that hovers over the Reverend’s gravestone. Cars brought into the cemetery seem to stall and die out mysteriously, especially during night. The site is also prone to orbs, shadows, and voices.
