In the Terminator franchise, a computer program called Skynet took control of the world’s nuclear weapons and launched them as an assault on humanity. Within the blink of an eye most of the world’s population ceased to exist. The few survivors banded together hoping to rebuild humanity. The machines of Skynet set out to terminate all remaining humans. One of the humans was John Connor. He was the leader of the resistance against the machines. Connor was Skynet’s deadliest threat.
John Connor was born to Sarah Connor in 1985. His father was a time-traveller sent from the future to protect Sarah. John was raised by Sarah and trained to be the leader of the future war that was to come. Throughout his life, John lived in fear of the future for which he must fight. When Sarah died of leukemia, John was on his own. He survived the nuclear war by hiding in a bunker. When he emerged, he gathered a group of survivors to fight against the machines and rebuild mankind.
Skynet knew with John gone, there would be no resistance and they would be the masters of the earth. The machines sent back Terminators to kill John before he was born and as a young boy. Both Terminators failed because John sent back a soldier named Kyle Reese who would become John’s father. This cycle will forever repeat because if john was killed by the machines, Skynet would cease to exist.
