Jefferson Hotel

January 9th, 2009

The Jefferson Hotel is located in Jefferson, Texas and is also sometimes referred to as either the New Jefferson Hotel or the Historic Jefferson Hotel. The building was originally built in 1851 as a cotton warehouse. Around 1900, it became a hotel and has remained to be one ever since. In the 1920s, the hotel was actually called the Crystal Palace. Many ghosts have been reported to haunt the hotel for years, and each room in the hotel is unique in its own way. Lone Star Spirits investigated the spirit activity in the hotel and found many cold spots. They even brought a medium along with them who claimed to have spoken with the spirit of an employee of the bordello from years ago in room 14. The EMF readings fluctuated erratically as the medium was talking with the spirit.

Other paranormal events that are experienced at the Jefferson are the sounds of children playing, an apparition of a female, the sounds of doors slamming closed, and sounds of footsteps. There was a fire when the building was a cotton house and there were some sounds from this event heard including sounds of cracking timber and screams.
