Anyone who has seen the movie Titanic can attest to the fact that the film was an extraordinary piece of cinematic history. The man behind this amazing feat was none of than science-fiction mastermind, James Cameron. He has been called one of the most important film directors in modern-day Hollywood. With many films under his belt, Cameron truly has lived up to this title.

Cameron originally had no intention of becoming a film director. He was a physics major in college then a truck driver. This all changed when George Lucas released Star Wars in the summer of 1977. Like many aspiring film-makers of the time period, Cameron quit his job and began working on low-budget projects slowly working his way up the ranks.

After an illness, while he was out of the country, CameronĀ had a dream of a robot from the future coming to destroy him. The Terminator franchise was born. Cameron wrote, produced, and directed this film on a very small budget. It turned out to be a huge hit and has spawned a legacy that has lasted to this day. With the success of this film, he made the action-packed sequel to Ridley Scott’s Alien.

With the successes of almost every film he has made, and dozens of awards from all over the world, James Cameron can definitely be called one of the most important people in the paranormal-interest world. He explored theĀ ultimate imaginary potential of the human mind and crafted stories that have stood the test of time.
