Ireland’s Ghost
Donegal, Ireland is one of the most famous places in the entire country to have had paranormal occurrences. All throughout this beautiful green land, ghost sightings have been reported and the legends surrounding them have become well-known. A friend of mine’s mother shared her story with me. It may be coincidence that this event happened or it may be a true ghost story. Read on and decide for yourself.
My friends mother was raised and grew up in the small county of Donegal in Ireland. She had been out late at a dance hall with a few friends. The walk home was about a half an hour. In those days, this remote part of Ireland was not used to cars the way we are today, so people walked all over the place. She headed out of the town and down the road to her house. As she passed an old house, she could see a light on in the living room. Suddenly she heard the sound of crying and sniffling behind her. She turned and there was no one to be seen. As she continued walking, the sounds followed her all the way home until she was safely inside her house.The next morning, the neighbors reported that the occupier of the house she had passed had committed suicide. So the sounds of crying, she thought, were that of his ghost.
