In the summer of 2008, the hard rock band Disturbed produced and released their fourth studio album entitled Indestructible. The album topped the music charts for most of the summer. Three of their singles received significant airplay on rock radio throughout the United States. One of the well-known songs from the album is call “Inside the Fire.” Their has been such speculation as to the story behind the lyrics.
The song speaks about a young girl named Devin who was one of eleven children. She committed suicide by hanging herself and did not leave a suicide note like most people do. Lead singer David Draiman has never confirmed what the song is about. This leaves it open to speculation. Most Disturbed fans believe this song speaks about one of his ex-girlfriends. She lacked attention from her family. When David broke up with her, she killed herself out of revenge.
