I have written about facts of human trafficking which you may have read written by many but my main point is expectation from new congress government to take the subject seriously as everyone is aware that in most of the houses in India children below 12 to14 years of age are working as domestic servants and no corrective steps are being taken by Law enforcement authorities.

India placed on watch list for human trafficking. In fact 27 countries are in U.S.Tier 2 watchlistin the trafficking in persons 2009 report released on June 16th. According to the State Department India is a “source,destination,and transit country for men and women and children trafficked for the purpose of force labor and commercial sexual exploitation.” The government of India does not fully comply with the minimum standerds for the elimination of trafficking.
We hope that new congress led government will take strong steps to eliminate human trafficking.

Oudated or not, those stats are horrifying. I just recently saw Taken too, and although the bad guys got it in the end, it only made me more angry that no one does that in real life. Not everyone gets their missing child/friend/girlfriend/wife/mother back, and the fact that this type of thing happens, and to such a large extent, just disgusts me. I can barely put it into words.
