Hotel St. Pierre
The Hotel St. Pierre is located on Burgundy Street in New Orleans, Louisiana. The carriage master of the hotel was always devoted to his duties and responsibilities. He wore his blue pantaloons with a blue shirt and polished boots, and he handled the horses and wagons that constantly passed in and out.
The Peyroux family once owned the house and they relied heavily on the carriage master since they were always going in and out of the house. Based on his apparition, he died in his early 40s and was muscular but not too tall. This pale apparition can be seen in the carriageway of the hotel on most days and nights. He stands at his post and watches the street patiently waiting for a carriage to pull in. The reason why he is probably in this location is because it is historically tied to the structures that make up the hotel. Gabriel Peyroux de la Roche bought the property in 1780.
Later that year, he also constructed a house on his plantation and then moved it to the lot on Burgundy street. This house now serves as the main entry for the current Hotel St. Pierre. Creole cottages were also added to the property, making it a rather large estate. There is also another ghost on the property believed to be that of a Confederate soldier. Some visitors have reported this presence on their beds as they slept.
