Hotel Del Coronado
Hotel Del Coronado is located in Coronado, California. On November 25th, 1892, Kate Morgan checked into the hotel and would never check out. It seems as though she has never left because of the countless ghost sightings that have been reported of her spirit for years. This luxurious hotel was built in 1888 by Elisha Babcock and H.L. Story. It overlooks the Pacific Ocean and has been an accommodation to celebrities from around the world. To this day, the resort and spa operates at the same level it always has and the ghost of Kate Morgan is seen often.
Kate was a beautiful woman who checked into the hotel in her mid 20s. She told people that she was waiting for her brother to meet her there but he never showed up. On November 30th, 1892, Katie’s body was found dead on the exterior staircase. She had a gunshot wound to the head and the authorities concluded that this was a self-inflicted wound. The story goes that her and her husband had a fight on the train to San Diego and he got off at an earlier stop, but she went on to the hotel hoping he would meet her there. He never did, so she killed herself. Her ghost is known to turn lights and televisions on and off, give off the scent of perfume, and brings cold spots to certain areas. Her apparition is also seen on the stairwell where she died.
