Highway 40

Highway 40 is located five miles southeast of Hays, Kansas. One man named Lee Prosser reported of a paranormal experience that he had. He had pulled over on the shoulder to take a nap and he awoke to a couple that pulled up next to his car in a four wheeled two seater carriage with two horses pulling it. They looked as though they were in their mid 30s, and their clothes looked like they were from the 1890s. He waved to them and they waved back, but when he went to pull down his window to talk they vanished into the air. He believes that he had stepped into a time vortex which enabled him to interact with these people from another era.
