Heavy Metal music has always been a source of controversy since its inception. To this day, there are people who just consider it a bunch of noise with a guy screaming. Yet, this type of music grew out of the rebelliousness of the musicians of the day. Bands such as Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Metallica, and Megadeth have been looked down upon due to their in-your-face lyrics and dark getup.

Yet, there is so much more to this “noise.” The idea of heavy metal music is not a new one. When the Beatles were at the top of the charts, even they experimented with hard-edged riffs with loud lyrics. Many consider the song “Helter Skelter” to be on the first songs that set the Metal genre in action. So if people knew that the Beatles were responsible for this genre, I think many more people would appreciate this genre.

Metal music isn’t meant to make teens commit suicide, hurt other people, and go against society. It simply is a way to led out pent up anger. Metallica best described this type of anger in their 1986 album “Master of Puppets.” This is consider to be the greatest Metal album of all time. Yet, look at them. They are just a bunch of simply guys playing music. But if metal is so evil, shouldn’t they be bums on the street as so many people believe this is what the Metal genre signifies?
