Haunted LSU: Pleasant Hall
Louisiana State University is located in Baton Rouge. Mostly known for its dominance in athletics, especially the football program, the school attains much national publicity. However, what most people do not know is that this campus is haunted. Specifically Pleasant Hall,a former women’s dormitory. There have been a numerous amount of murders and suicides reported from here. It is none other more prevalent then in room 312. The main story surrounding this room begins with a girlfriend and boyfriend fighting with each other, and then somehow this leads to the girl taking out a gun and shooting her boyfriend in the face.
Thinking that he was dead, the girl took off and ran upstairs to her room (312), where she too, shot herself in the head taking her own life. However, it turned out that the boy did survive. Since then, there have been strange noises ans sightings of the paranormal in that room and throughout the old building.
As a student working part-time for LSU Campus Security in 1973 – this is version I heard related by a long-time member of that force – At time that Pleasant Hall was Alumni Center Hotel two student workers (boy/girl) became romanically involved and would wile away slow hours in one of the hotel rooms. The girl became pregnant and when she informed the y0ung man he was dismissive and dumped her – being a Catholic girl and from a very traditional Cajun family she took matters into her own hands and came to work a few days later with a shotgun and gave her former beau both barrels. Don’t recall if she killed herself or not.
