Hannah House

Hannah-House

Located in Indianapolis, Indiana, Hannah House was built in the year 1858 by Alexander M. Hannah. Hannah worked in various trades during his life, including work as a sheriff, state legislator, and circuit clerk. Alexander and his wife wrre both abolitionists against slavery so they would hide many slaves in their basement until Alex died in 1895. After the Hannahs, the house was then bought by a jeweler. Strange paranormal occurrences began to happen after the house was abandoned in 1967.

One aspect of the paranormal at Hannah House is a strong and gross odor. The scent of rotting flesh comes upstairs from the 2nd floor bathroom and the scent of burning flesh comes downstairs from the basement. It is believed that a lantern tipped over in the basement one night and many of the slaves that were staying there were burnt alive. It is said that the slaves who died were buried right into the dirt floor of the basement. There are also many cold spots that are prevalent throughout the house. The apparition of a man in a black coat has been seen in the house as well as the apparition of a woman in the second floor window.
