Halloween Safety

October 20th, 2008

Halloween is a great holiday but it must be enjoyed safely. Whether you are careless or not, tragedy can still strike. On Halloween night 1997 in Biscoe, Arkansas tragedy did happen. The Watson family was trick-or-treating that night walking along Highway 70. Out of no where, a weaving truck came in and struck 4 year old Prince and 7 year old Jasmine.

The truck dragged both these poor children more than 70 feet. Jasmine died right there on the spot, and Prince died in the hospital a few hours later. As you can imagine, the parents have had an incredibly hard time dealing with this and no longer celebrate the holiday. They wish to help other families with their story, possibly saving others lives.

They ask that for all parents to watch their children close and to always pay attention. Halloween is all fun and games, but it must be respected. Bad things can happen to anyone and we all need to make sure that we aren’t careless in anyway that can cause the harm of someone else. Be safe and have fun!
