Great Barrier Reef

The Great Barrier Reef is the largest coral reef system in the world. It is composed of over 2,900 individual reefs and 900 islands that stretches for over 1,600 miles. It is located in the Coral Sea off the coast of Queensland, Australia. It is so large that it can be seen from outer space and is composed of billions of tiny organisms, known as coral polyps. It is a major tourist attraction and has been labeled as one of the seven wonders of the world by CNN.
